Hexproof

A permanent with hexproof can't be the target of spells or abilities your opponents control.

An opponent cannot cast a targeted removal spell on your hexproof creature, but you can still target it with your own Auras and pump spells.

Rules and interactions

  • Hexproof matters only while the permanent is on the battlefield unless an effect explicitly grants hexproof to a player or to cards in another zone.
  • Board wipes and effects that say “each” or “all” do not target, so hexproof does not stop them.
  • Auras cast as spells target; an Aura put directly onto the battlefield without being cast may be attached without targeting.
